My one thing this year is...⁣⁣

Getting to a higher level of concentration ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because it helps me to inspire and provoke myself, I was going through some notes on what’s called tranquil abiding yesterday. I came across this small verse which did just that. ⁣⁣

Without concentration our mind has no freedom⁣⁣

I really wish to feel free and everyone else for that matter. ⁣⁣

Said another way, with concentration our minds have freedom. Such an amazing benefit. ⁣⁣

That’s the first thing I did before I opened my eyes today. Before I started my morning meditation, I took some time to imagine a beautiful, pure world. ⁣
⁣
Cultivating that that type of awakening as a first response is a job. A joyful job. ⁣
⁣
It takes effort and it’s worth it. Through many teachings, I’ve learned special ways. My dear teacher said once - cuddle up with peace first thing in the am before you do anything else! ⁣
⁣
It didn’t start this way. I tended to wake up in the past sometimes anxious, worried, or with a sense of dread. It took a lot of training to snap out of that. A continuous effort. ⁣
⁣
So, I pass those inspiring words along to you - be sure to cuddle up with your peace first thing in the am. ⁣

Perhaps a nice little thought to carry into the new days of 2020. ⁣

2019 started at this incredible retreat center sans this temple. I get to return for retreat later this January in this very blessed temple. Guru yoga, tranquil abiding, superior seeing...incredible topics. ⁣

Faith is so precious. ⁣
⁣
I wish for you to have a clarity about where you’re placing your faith - the last moment of this year, the first moment of 2020, and onward. Moi aussi 😌⁣

We can simply look at how we spend these moments. And, keep striving to keep them in line with the very best versions of ourselves. ⁣

It’s December 30 and the whole day is ahead (depending on where in the world you are). ⁣

I made my way back to Paris yesterday with a glorious day of walking. Got the chance to be in this special area by Jardin de Luxembourg. ⁣
⁣
It’s got a little spiritual je ne sais quoi to it ✨⁣
⁣
Then, I saw a beautiful Buddhist documentary based in China. I dreamt about it, woke up contemplating it, everything. Heart was at peace. ⁣
⁣
Much different than waking up with thoughts of some random podcast in my mind (which happened the night before). Maybe valuable in worldly terms but is it really necessary. ⁣
⁣
Just one more lesson on how valuable it is to consume what really matters and shut down media on what really isn’t of the highest benefit. ⁣
⁣
Especially when concentration is a main aim. ⁣
⁣

Everywhere you turn, people are making sacrifices so that others can live more abundantly...⁣

It caught my eye because so it can be promoted many places how YOU can live more abundantly. ⁣

How much better does sound to think of what you can do so OTHERS can live more abundantly 🙏⁣
